Mondays Off! Irish Update

Sorry for the break-- holidays and such. Anyway, since we last spoke, Notre Dame officially disqualified itself from any future discussion of collegiate sports programs with integrity (a word that demands very loose interpretation when used vis a vis college athletics) by firing coach Tyrone Willingham after only three years. I'm going to let the professional sports pundits have their way with this one-- I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been said. For once, the sports media seems to be almost unanimously unified in its condemnation of the Domers. I say almost unanimously because one lone voice cries out to say that Notre Dame "needed a change." To which former Irishman does this shockingly imbecilic perspective belong? Why, to Joe Theismann, of course.
